Thomas Bachmann has spent his entire career in private banking providing services dedicated to a demanding clientèle. He has held a number of relationship manager and management positions with several banks (UBS, Credit Suisse, Luzerner Kantonal Bank and Baloise Bank) over the past twenty years. He was most recently the manager of the Notenstein La Roche Privat Bank branch in Lucerne.

Michael Kiefer also has over twenty years of experience in institutional and private asset management. He has worked for major Swiss financial companies (UBS and Credit Suisse) where he developed a sophisticated and UHNWI clientèle before becoming an independent investment consultant.

Thomas Bachmann and Michael Kiefer will report directly from Zurich to Lorenzo Romano, Head of Switzerland and Europe, who is based in Geneva. The recruitment of the two experienced senior bankers is in line with the bank’s strategy of expanding its activities in Zurich, Zug and central Switzerland as well as increasingly addressing demanding UHNWI clients and family offices.

In addition to its multidisciplinary and individualised wealth management services, SYZ has been offering mortgages, and retirement services and products for professionals (LPP2) since last year. SYZ has also built up capacities in the area of personalised financial planning and has created SYZ Capital, a business unit specialising in investments and advice in private markets.

“Although SYZ has expanded internationally over more than twenty years, we remain first and foremost very attached to the Swiss market. We’re very happy to welcome Thomas Bachmann and Michael Kiefer, two very experienced specialists on whom we can count to continue our sustainable growth in Switzerland over the long term”, said Lorenzo Romano, Head of Switzerland and Europe.
