Bank Syz appoints new head of advisory

Bank Syz Ltd, the private banking arm of Syz Group, has hired Antoine Denis to lead its advisory offering which is recognized for its excellent investment performance and client servicing.

Effective today, Antoine Denis reports to Nicolas Syz, head of Syz Private Banking.  He will co-head the investment department of the Bank with Luc Filip, head of discretionary portfolio management.

Becoming a key member of the bank’s investment strategy and investment committees, he will work to further enhance Syz’s investment capabilities – namely the group’s institutional-grade investment and reporting processes combined with macro overlays that helps to protect clients’ portfolios.

In his new role, Antoine Denis will also be focused on developing the advisory team to supply each of the regional private banking teams with the right investment opportunities for the right clients. By encouraging a collaborative culture, he will seek to attract the highest calibre investment professionals with a performance-oriented mindset, thereby further increasing our expertise across specific countries and in new asset classes such as cryptocurrency.

In the 2020-2021 financial year, the private bank delivered a top decile investment performance for both discretionary and advisory clients, thanks to its robust institutional investment approach. Bank Syz also prides itself on client servicing. Throughout the pandemic the Bank has been disciplined in its implementation of technology to significantly increase engagement with clients.

Future-focused

The Bank is focused on the future, constantly looking for ways it can inspire clients to evolve with a changing landscape and seize new opportunities. To this effect, Antoine Denis is tasked with reviewing and expanding the Syz advisory product offering across focus countries and investment segments, to better cater for regional preferences and optimise its tailored advice offering in a Japanifed world of low growth, high debts, and low interest rates

Antoine Denis has more than a decade of experience in the investment industry, and extensive expertise working directly with private clients – in sales, portfolio management, research and advisory capacities. He joins from Bordier & Cie., the Geneva based private bank where he has been the head of advisory since 2015. Prior to this, he held positions at Lyxor AM in London and Pictet & Cie in Paris, respectively in hedge funds and mutual funds.
