Communication Manager

As a key member of the communications team at Banque Syz, the Communication Manager will play an important role in designing and delivering a wide range of internal and external communications activities.

The incumbent will operate with a high degree of autonomy, working hand in hand with colleagues at all levels in Communication, Marketing, Support Functions and Business as well as external interlocutors such as medias players and journalists.

Your missions

Job description/ key responsibilities:

  • External communications:
    • Play an active role in strengthening Syz’s proactive media outreach efforts
    • Help manage any reputational challenges that may arise
    • Optimize the approach to social media
    • Work with the business to submit industry awards and leverage public speaking opportunities


  • Internal communications:
    • Manage events and activities that increase employee engagement and showcase critical business initiatives, including the preparation of Townhalls and other staff gatherings
    • Promote these internal events by producing appropriate intranet content such as articles, videos, pictures, testimonials


Lead other tasks and activities, from generating new ideas based on industry trends to measuring the outcome of the team’s work.

Your profile


  • University degree in communications, journalism, economics or a related field of study


Professional experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in corporate communications, at least 3 of which in the banking industry
  • Experience across both internal and external communications would be a distinctive plus



Professional competencies:

  • Track record of delivering effective communication initiatives, ideally in a highly regulated industry
  • Good understanding of banking and financial services
  • High affinity for digital communications and hands-on experience of working with social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Ability to think strategically while also rolling up their sleeves; a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes that make a difference for the business

  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial can-do attitude who enjoys challenges and varied work
  • Solid business acumen and financial literacy
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to work effectively with stakeholders from various backgrounds and at all levels
  • Excellent presentation and project management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and remain calm and productive while dealing with multiple priorities
  • True entrepreneurial work ethic and business drive combined with hands-on approach

Language requirements:

  • Excellent command of written and spoken French and English
  • German or any other European languages are a strong plus


IT Skills:

  • Proficiency with standard IT tools and systems, such as MS Office
