SYZ & CO's strength

The financial strength of the bank one chooses to manage one’s assets is a fundamental issue. In this respect, SYZ & CO demonstrates an outstanding quality.

SYZ & CO : a Swiss banking institution

As a Swiss banking group, SYZ & CO is subject to one of the world’s strictest set of national banking regulations, which lend it the guarantee of faultless activity.

Moreover, just like with all banks in Switzerland, deposits of Banque SYZ & CO SA’s clients are guaranteed up to a maximum of CHF 100,000 per client. For additional information, please visit the "Deposit Protection of Swiss Banks and Securities Dealers" website (www.einlagensicherung.ch/en).

A highly risk-adverse business activity

SYZ & CO being exclusively focused on asset management, the group is not exposed to the most important risk factors in banking:

  • No project financing or investment banking activities
  • No commercial credit or mortgages
  • Extremely limited proprietary trading activities
  • No market making activities
  • Client assets are off-balance sheet

A vastly over-capitalised bank

Banque SYZ & CO benefits from very high equity capital, as demonstrated by our “Tier 1 capital” ratio of 26% (as at end 2010), a number well above the 8% required by hte Swiss regulators. This ratio, which is obtained by dividing the equity capital by the risk-weighted assets, is the main measure of a bank’s soundness.

Banking transparency

SYZ & CO publishes its accounts, thus enabling the general public to verify its financial soundness. The latter was acknowledged by Moody’s, which gave it a A3 rating in recognition of the Bank’s solid fundamentals and the low risk exposure of its core business (click to access the official publication by Moody’s).
